Common mistakes during Weight Loss journey

We all have been on weight loss journey at-least once in our life. Though a few succeed, most of us end up being disappointed and decide that all the work is not worth the effort. However, we fail to understand that there are dos and don’ts of following a weight loss regime. Below is a simple guide to ensure you get maximum results for the effort you put in and to ensure you do not commit common mistakes during weight loss journey

1. Inadequate Sleep – sleeping less than 7 hours interrupts body function and increases weight Gain hormones. Ensure you give your body sufficient rest time to rejuvenate.

2. Not Drinking Enough Water – Drinking water detoxifies the body and boosts metabolism. If you are not taking adequate amount of water then your weight loss will be slow. Drink 8-10 glasses of water every day. Most of your water intake should be in the morning right after you wake up. You can increase the water intake accordingly to your thirst level and season (summers).

3. Skipping or late breakfast – Biggest sin  one can do is to skip the breakfast. Ensure you have wholesome and health breakfast everyday. You should have your breakfast before 9:00am.

4. Waking up after sunrise – Waking up after sunshine increases the Kapha Dosa and causes weight gain. Early to bed and early to rise is an age old knowledge that still holds good.

5.Taking Supplements – A lot of supplements have been proven to be bad for health. Consult your doctor/ Dietitian before opting for any. Along with all of the above, your food intake plays a major part in your health journey. Do consult a dietitian for professional guidance.
